Croatia lost against Denmark 24-28, a victory against Bahrein today is a must
In the first match of the Olympic qualification tournament in Herning, Denmark, Croatia lost the first game against the home team. Croatia is playing against Bahrein on April 9, 2016, in the second round of the tournament and needs a win with a large goal difference to stay in the contest for qualification.
Croatian team had big hopes for the opening game, as the win would have almost secured the path to the Olympic Games, but the home team was too strong on their home court. Croatia did not have enough players on the level needed for the win, while Mikel Hansen was simply brilliant for Denmark, scoring eight goals.
Croatia is playing against outsiders, Bahrein today; kick-off is at 18.00 CET. It is a game Croatia has to win, and then has to wait for Denmark and Norway match to be played later tonight. Bahrein is an outsider, but there can be no underestimating from Croatian players as any slip would be devastating for their Olympic dream.
The tournament ends tomorrow, with Croatia playing against Norway, in what will probably be a deciding match for reaching the Rio Olympics.
