Bad News: End of Season for Marko Pjaca

By 29 March 2017

Magnetic resonance confirmed on Wednesday the injury of the frontal cruciate ligament of Marko Pjaca he received during the friendly match against Estonia, meaning the season is over for this talented wing striker

The young 21-year-old forward is truly down on his luck. In the past year he had three heavy injuries and missed a large number of matches, with the worst coming this Wednesday in Tallinn, Tportal reported on March 29, 2017.

Pjaca fell to the pitch with a painful expression in the 64th minute of the match against Estonia, holding his knee and was carried out, while selector Čačić confirmed after the match that the injury is likely serious.

A magnetic resonance confirmed it a day later.

“Pjaca will be out for a long time after an injury of the frontal cruciate ligament was confirmed. He will go through surgery and several months of recovery. The medical teams of the Croatian national team and Juventus are in constant contact and will make joint decisions on how to treat Pjaca’s injury,” published the Croatian Football Federation, implying a recovery time of six to eight months.

He is expected to return to competition during the fall, early enough to completely recover before the World Championship in Russia in June 2018.
