Summer Transfer Window: Which Croatian Clubs Made the Best Deals So Far?

The first month of the summer transfer window is behind us. Nova TV journalist Milan Stjelja gives us an update.

The first month of the summer transfer window in football has come to an end, and just as it was assumed, there have been a series of transfers in Croatia's first league. Here’s a look at the coaches and clubs who have made the most of the summer transfer window so far, looking specifically at Rijeka, Dinamo, Hajduk, and Osijek, reports Gol.hr on June 30, 2017.

Just 15 days ago, there were many questions facing Croatian champion HNK Rijeka - would there be many transfers from the team and would Rijeka’s coach, Kek, leave Rujevica Stadium? Fortunately, things are a lot clearer now than they were a few weeks ago. The Slovenian has signed a new coaching contract, and with it, Rijeka remains solid on the football market.

Rijeka has thus far brought in four new players, with Heber and Đoković standing out amongst the transfer hopefuls. There have been no sales of last year's champion team apart from Franko Andrijašević who will join Nikola Kalinić at Gent and Bezjak, who was already on loan, will return to Germany's SV Darmstadt 98.

Dinamo Zagreb has seen a lot less traffic, and the club has only brought in Czech defender Lecjaks while Junior Fernandes returned on loan from Turkey. Machado, Goncalo and Šitum have all left the club.

Hajduk brought back Radošević, signed Spanish stopper Borja Lopez just yesterday, and brought in Ivan Pešić from RNK Split. In addition, Savvas has been officially redeemed from Bari.

Osijek is also active and should see their game pick up with Lokomotiva duo Grezda and Bočkaja.
