Liverpool’s Anfield stadium welcomed current and former club teammates from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter and Liverpool ahead of Croatia’s friendly match against Brazil.
A rather friendly atmosphere has been reported at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool ahead of the, well, ‘friendly’ match between Croatia and Brazil this afternoon. On Saturday, June 2, 2018, the teams completed their final training before the match, and between the training and press conference, in the premises beneath the stadium, the European club colleagues from both sides mixed in one another’s company, with smiles.

The Brazilian Football Federation, in addition to many of the individual footballers, posted photos and videos to their social networking profiles to highlight the special moments between the new ‘rivals’. Fans could find evidence of the meeting on the Instagram pages of Real Madrid colleagues Marcelo, Modrić, Kovačić and Casemiro, and Barcelona buddies Coutinho and Rakitić, who even welcomed Neymar, a former Barcelona player, with a hug.
Marcelo Brozović, Ivan Perišić and Miranda from Inter exchanged laughs, and Dejan Lovren shamed his former Liverpool teammate Coutinho with a brilliant Instagram caption.
“Tomorrow they are rivals, but today they are great friends. A special encounter with Brazilian and Croatian stars," said the Brazilian Football Federation.
The match between Croatia and Brazil is scheduled for 16:00 today.
