ZAGREB, April 4, 2018 - Environmental Protection and Energy Minister Tomislav Ćorić said in an interview with Croatian Radio on Wednesday that he was confident the government would eventually find a solution for the Petrokemija artificial fertiliser producer, which, he said, was one of the burning problems the government had to deal with, the other two being INA and Agrokor.

ZAGREB, March 28, 2018 - The head of the northern Adriatic municipality of Omišalj on Krk island, Mirela Ahmetović, told a news conference on Tuesday that European Commission officials had visited Omišalj and that she had informed them that the local authorities were against the planned construction of a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Omišalj.

ZAGREB, March 27, 2018 - President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović said on Tuesday that the construction of an LNG terminal is essential for Croatia's energy independence because "we might become hostage to some geopolitical crisis which might not be in our neighbourhood but might obstruct the energy supply," which could affect Croatia's economic and political stability.

ZAGREB, March 9, 2018 – Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Friday that some political stakeholders, primarily the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the MOST party, "are now signing a different tune" about the future LNG terminal on the Krk island, saying that as a state and a society we must decide if we want to use these strategic energy projects to put Croatia in a proper place on the map of Europe.

ZAGREB, March 8, 2018 - The project to build a floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Omišalj on the island of Krk is environmentally acceptable on the condition that appropriate measures are taken to protect the environment and monitor the situation on the ground, a commission in charge of assessing the environmental impact of the project decided at its third session held at the Environmental Protection and Energy Ministry on Thursday.

ZAGREB, March 3, 2018 - Several thousand people gathered in the northern Adriatic city of Rijeka on Saturday to protest against a project to build a floating LNG terminal at Omišalj on the island of Krk. Among the protesters were local and regional government leaders, members of political parties, environmentalists, athletes and war veterans.
