Parliamentary Committees Support Ministerial Nominees

ZAGREB, May 23, 2018 - The parliamentary committees on economy and on the constitution, standing orders and political system at their joint session on Wednesday accepted with a majority vote Prime Minister Andrej Plenković's proposal to appoint Tomislav Tolušić as Deputy Prime Minister and Darko Horvat as Economy Minister, following last week's resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Martina Dalić.

Opposition Puts Forward Motion to Dissolve Parliament

ZAGREB, May 18, 2018 - Parliament on Friday included a motion by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for parliament to be dissolved. The SDP claims that, in the wake of former deputy prime minister Martina Dalić's resignation, circumstances have emerged for citizens to be allowed to go to a snap election and decide on a new parliament which will elect a new government.

Parliament Debates Motion of No Confidence against Economy Minister

ZAGREB, April 12, 2018 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in the national parliament on Thursday that the no-confidence motion against Economy Minister Martina Dalić would fail just as the previous four opposition-sponsored motions for impeachment of cabinet members in the last year and a half.

Ruling Coalition MP Indicted for Bribery of Journalist

ZAGREB, March 10, 2018 -  The Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organised Crime (USKOK) on Friday issued an indictment against Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) lawmaker Franjo Lučić for offering a bribe to freelance reporter Drago Hedl  in a bid to persuade the reporter to stop writing about his companies.
