Slovenia Satisfied with Hearing on Border Dispute with Croatia

ZAGREB, May 3, 2018 - Slovenia's Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec said on Wednesday that he was satisfied with the oral hearing in Brussels at expert level regarding a complaint by Slovenia that Croatia was in breach of European Union law for not implementing an arbitration ruling on the border dispute between the two countries.

Plenković: Croatia and Serbia Are Two Different Worlds

ZAGREB, May 1, 2018 - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in Okučani on Tuesday, at a ceremony marking the 23rd anniversary of Operation Flash, that Croatia and Serbia "at this moment are two worlds," declining to say whether he and President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović would discuss new diplomatic measures against Serbia as a response to Serbia's decision to declare Croatian Defence Minister Damir Krstičević persona non grata.

Croatia Ready for Slovenia’s Possible Border Dispute Lawsuit

ZAGREB, April 30, 2018 - The European Commission will not find any violations of European Union law by Croatia, as claimed by Slovenia in its complaint concerning the border arbitration ruling, and if Ljubljana takes the case to the Court of Justice of the EU, Zagreb will know how to respond, Andreja Metelko-Zgombić, state secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, said in an interview with the N1 television channel on Monday.

Krško Nuclear Power Plant – Another Croatia-Slovenia Dispute

ZAGREB, April 25, 2018 - The Slovenian and Croatian co-owners of the Krško Nuclear Power Plant – Slovenia's GEN Energija and Croatia's HEP power provider – did not manage to reach agreement on appointing the plant's new two-member management board on Wednesday, however, they agreed to resume talks on the matter after the completion of the regular overhaul of the plant.

Slovenia Ready to Block Croatia's Entry into Schengen

ZAGREB, April 25, 2018 - At the end of a summit meeting of the Southeast Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) held in Slovenia's resort Brdo Pri Kranju on Tuesday and attended also by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar did not rule out the possibility of blocking Croatia's entry into the Schengen area if Zagreb doesn't agree to implement an international arbitration ruling on the two countries' border dispute.

Plenković: Relations with Slovenia Are Not Dramatic

ZAGREB, April 24, 2018 - Despite the disputes, the current state of relations with Slovenia is not dramatic, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Tuesday when asked to comment on relations with the neighbouring country in light of the legal proceedings Ljubljana has launched regarding the border arbitration and the issue of old foreign currency savings accounts held by Croatian citizens in the now defunct Ljubljanska Banka.
