Replacement Workers to Take Over Jobs in Shipyard?

ZAGREB, August 26, 2018 - The striking committee in the Uljanik Group on Sunday held a meeting to discuss whether to allow one of its clients to hire substitute workers to continue work on a vessel the client has commissioned from the Uljanik shipyard, but no decision on the matter was made, with two unions which are active in Uljanik and whose representatives are members of the striking committee having different positions.

Hundreds of Shipyard Workers Preparing to Protest in Zagreb on Monday

ZAGREB, August 25, 2018 - A strike at the 3. Maj shipyard in Rijeka continued on Saturday and as Saturday is not a working day workers did not come to their work stations but are preparing to come to Zagreb on Monday and hold a protest rally outside Government House, the head of the striking council Veljko Todorović told Hina on Saturday.

Shipyard Workers to Protest in Zagreb on Monday

ZAGREB, August 24, 2018 - The striking council of the Rijeka-based 3.Maj shipyard, that held a meeting on Friday, said that union stewards in the Pula-based Uljanik dock and in the Rijeka shipyard decided to depart for Zagreb on Monday as part of their plans to intensify their protest actions which they started on Wednesday over unpaid wages for July.

ZAGREB, August 24, 2018 - Economy Minister Darko Horvat said on Thursday evening that neither Danko Končar, the owner of the Kermas Gorup that is perceived as a potential strategic partner for the Uljanik Group, nor the management of the Pula-based ailing ship construction and repair group, were offering for the time being any solution how to ensure funds for the payment of the wages in arrears.

Transport Minister Relieved Croatia Airlines Will Not Strike

ZAGREB, August 10, 2018 - Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Minister Oleg Butković said on Thursday he was glad there would be no strike in Croatia Airlines as it would have been fatal for the company, reiterating that he had not influenced a court decision banning the strike.

Croatia Airlines Unions Delay Strike Scheduled for Monday

ZAGREB, July 7, 2018 - After meeting with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Friday, the Croatia Airlines ORCA union and pilots' union (HSPP) said that they had decided to defer their strike which was set for Monday in order to create, within a reasonable period of time, the necessary preconditions to conclude a collective agreement.
