Protection and Rescue Services Get Aid from EU Funds

ZAGREB, September 10, 2018 - Croatian Interior Minister Davor Božinović, Environmental Protection and Energy Minister Tomislav Ćorić and Water Management company director Zoran Đuraković signed on Monday an agreement on the supply of new radio and communication equipment for protection and rescue services, worth 37 million kuna, 85% of which will be financed from EU funds and the rest from the state budget.

Croatia Gains Access to FBI Terrorist Screening Database

ZAGREB, September 1, 2018 - Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović and the director of the FBI's Terrorist Screening Centre Charles Kable on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding whereby Croatia will gain access to the US Terrorist Screening Database, which contains data on all persons who may be linked to terrorism.

Croatian Police to Be Restructured to Better Protect Borders

ZAGREB, July 19, 2018 - The Croatian government on Thursday adopted a regulation to reorganise ten existing police stations into border police stations for the sake of achieving the level of technical preparedness needed to join the Schengen area of passport-free movement, and it also restored wage bonuses for police employees, which, Minister Davor Božinović said, had been unnecessarily and unfairly cut a few years ago.

Police Establish Tourist Season Security Centre in Zadar

ZAGREB, June 17, 2018 - The centre for implementation of security measures during the peak of the tourist season in Croatia's coastal and island destinations was officially opened in Zadar on Saturday by Interior Minister Davor Božinović who said that the Zadar headquarters and other relevant services and institutions would collect information about all that was going on in Croatia's Adriatic region in summer so as to beef up security in this way, too.
