January 21, 2022 - The latest flight news to Croatia as 14 Volotea flights to Split and Dubrovnik airports will run this summer. 

Spanish low-cost airline Volotea is planning 14 scheduled flights to two Croatian airports this summer, reports Croatian Aviation.

Namely, Volotea will operate 14 seasonal routes from France, Italy, and Greece to two Croatian airports - Split and Dubrovnik, in the summer flight schedule, which starts in late March.

Although the airline planned more lines to Split and Dubrovnik, the start date has been postponed from season to season due to the pandemic. The three previously announced lines will not be in operation this year either. Moreover, the airline has removed them from its list of destinations, so it is to be assumed that they will not be launched in the near future.

Nevertheless, the summer program for Croatia looks significantly better compared to 2021 operations. There are several weekly rotations on most lines, but it should be noted that the company has confirmed that reductions (or increases) in the announced schedule are still possible, and this will depend solely on the pandemic that directly affects passenger demand.

Volotea plans to travel to Dubrovnik from:
Lyon, from 16.04., 2 times a week, Tuesdays and Saturdays,

Nantes, from 09.04., 3 times a week, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays,

Bordeaux, from 16.04., 2 times a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays,

Toulouse, from 23.04., 2 times a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays,

Marseille, from 09.04., 2 times a week, Tuesdays and Saturdays,

Bari, from 06.07., once a week, Wednesday,

Athens, from 29.05., 2 times a week, Wednesdays and Sundays.

Volotea plans to travel to Split from:
Venice, from 27.05., 2 times a week, Tuesdays and Fridays,

Lyon, from 17.04., 2 times a week, Wednesdays and Sundays,

Nice, from 13.04., once a week, Wednesday,

Marseille, from 10.04., 2 times a week, Wednesdays and Sundays,

Toulouse, from 17.04., 2 times a week, Wednesdays and Sundays,

Bordeaux, from 17.04., once a week, Wednesdays,

Nantes, from 10.04., 2 times a week, Wednesdays and Sundays.

Volotea is one of the few airlines that flies from a number of French cities to Croatia during the summer season. Air France and Croatia Airlines, as well as many low-cost airlines, connect Croatian airports and several airports serving Paris, but Volotea offers the possibility of direct travel between Split and six French cities, which is certainly important in terms of tourism.

On all 14 routes to Croatia in the upcoming summer flight schedule, Volotea plans to use its A319 and A320 aircraft with a capacity of 150 and 180 seats in the passenger cabin, respectively.

January 5, 2021 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Volotea announces 21 lines to Croatia for summer 2021.

Croatian Aviation reports that well-known Spanish low-cost airline Volotea has announced as many as 21 international direct routes to Croatia for the summer of 2021.

Volotea, with operational bases in Spain, Italy, France, and Greece, plans to operate on as many as 21 international routes to two Croatian airports - Dubrovnik and Split.

Lines to Split Airport

According to the airline's current plans, Volotea will operate on as many as 10 international routes to Split Airport in the 2021 summer flight schedule, which will take effect at the end of March. This includes one line from Greece, as many as six from France, and three from neighboring Italy:

Split - Athens from April 25 will run twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday,

Split - Bordeaux from April 11 will operate once a week, and from June 2 twice a week, every Wednesday and Sunday,

Split - Lyon will operate twice a week from April 11, on Wednesdays and Sundays, and from July 6, the third flight will be added (Tuesdays),

Split - Marseille will be in operation from April 25 twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays),

Split - Nantes from April 4 will run once, from April 28 twice a week, from July 6 three times (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays),

Split - Nice from April 25 will operate once a week, from July 7 twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays),

Split - Toulouse will operate twice a week from April 18, from July 6 three times a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays),

Split - Bari will operate once a week from July 7, on Wednesdays,

Split - Palermo will operate from June 2 once a week, on Wednesdays,

Split - Venice will operate 4 times a week from May 28, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

All lines to Split should run until October 10, except for the lines to Bari and Palermo, which should end slightly earlier - on October 6. 

Lines to Dubrovnik Airport

Volotea is planning as many as 11 lines to Dubrovnik. These are two lines to Greece, six to France, and three to Italy:

Dubrovnik - Athens will operate twice a week from April 24, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and from June 1, they will add another flight per week and operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays,

Dubrovnik - Mykonos will operate from May 29 twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays,

Dubrovnik - Bordeaux will operate from April 10 twice a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays,

Dubrovnik - Lyon will operate from April 10 twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays,

Dubrovnik - Marseille will operate from April 24 twice a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays,

Dubrovnik - Nantes will operate from April 3 once a week, from April 27 three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays,

Dubrovnik - Strasbourg will operate from April 24 once a week, on Saturdays,

Dubrovnik - Toulouse will operate from April 17, twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays

Dubrovnik - Bari will operate from June 2 once a week, from July 5 twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays,

line Dubrovnik - Palermo will operate from July 7 once a week, on Wednesdays,

Dubrovnik - Venice will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, from May 28.

Certain routes were in traffic in the 2020 summer flight schedule, but according to a significantly reduced flight schedule, which was expected given the global epidemic. Volotea has released all the lines listed here for the summer of 2021, but there is a possibility that they will reduce the flight schedule to these two Croatian airports if bookings are not satisfactory.

October 26, 2019 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for new flights to Croatia with updates from Dubrovnik and Pula.

Avio Radar reports that Spanish low-cost carrier Volotea announced yet another new route to Croatia in their 2020 summer flight schedule, this time from Sicily to Dubrovnik. The new Palermo-Dubrovnik line will operate once a week, on Wednesdays, from July 8 to August 26, 2020. A Boeing 717 aircraft is expected to service this line. 

At the same time, the Dubrovnik-Bari line has been strengthened. In addition to one flight per week on Wednesdays, Volotea will add another trip in the heart of the season on Mondays. On the other hand, both routes from Bergamo to Croatia will no longer operate next year. These are the flights to Dubrovnik and Split. 

Recall, Avio Radar reported earlier this week that Volotea announced a new flight from France to Dubrovnik in their 2020 flight schedule. The new Toulouse-Dubrovnik route will begin operations from April 4, 2020, with two flights a week - on Wednesdays and Sundays. The end of the seasonal service is currently unknown, as tickets are on sale until the end of August. An Airbus A319 aircraft will fly on this route. 

This route will take the place of German carrier Germania, which filed for bankruptcy in February this year. Germania flew only once a week between Toulouse and Dubrovnik on Sundays. 

Volotea also strengthened three flights from France to Split in its 2020 summer flight schedule. Namely, flights from Lyon, Nantes, and Toulouse will fly to Split three times a week next year - on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays in the peak season. On the other hand, the Marseille-Split route, which only ran three flights a week, was reduced to two flights per week. 

Volotea will reduce traffic to destinations in the northern Adriatic for the 2020 summer flight schedule. Namely, only the Nantes-Pula route will remain with flights once a week, on Thursdays. This year’s new Bordeaux-Pula line is no longer on offer for 2020. Rijeka received its first Volotea line this year between Marseille and Rijeka, though it will not operate next year. 

Avio Radar also reports that TUI Airlines Belgium has announced a new route between Brussels and Pula in its 2020 summer flight schedule. Namely, this line will begin operations from April 25, 2020, with two flights a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. A Boeing 737-800 aircraft will serve this line. 

Two more trips will be offered next year - from Brussels to Dubrovnik on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and Antwerp to Split on Mondays and Fridays.

As Novac writes on the 6th of June, 2019, on Wednesday the 5th of June, 2019, at 20:10 a Volotea flight (V72616) arrived in Rijeka directly from from Marseille, making it the very first Volotea airplane to land at Rijeka Airport.

The arrival of this flight to Rijeka Airport precedent for the entire Kvarner region, since this flight marked the first time in the last twenty years that a regular route has been established between not just Rijeka and the city of Marseille, but between Rijeka and any other French city, as they stated from Rijeka Airport.

Although a direct line between Paris and Rijeka was established last year, these regular flights represent a much greater potential as regardless of the quantity of tickets sold, will allow each individual to fly at a very low price to the second largest French city, as was reported by Rijeka Airport.

On June the 5th, the inauguration ceremony of another new airline at Rijeka Airport was held with the classic display of water and cutting ribbons, and passengers were welcomed with homemade cakes and a taste of the area's local folklore, writes Novi list.

The new Volotea line will fly on the Rijeka-Marseille route once per week, on Wednesdays until October the 2nd, 2019, and traffic on this line will be powered by a Boeing 717 aircraft which can accommodate 125 passengers.

Volotea is a Spanish low-cost airline that connects over 83 cities throughout Europe, of middle and smaller sizes, with special emphasis placed on passenger quality and safety. Volotea's main focus is destinations located on the European side of the Mediterranean coast, in both Western and Southern Europe.

With over 6.5 million passengers, Volotea saw an increase of 36 percent over the previous year in 2018, making it one of the fastest growing carriers in the whole of Europe.
