Last night the owners of Insomniac Events, the American event company that organizes some of the largest electronic music festivals in the world, arrived in Split. Vecernji List reported the details on 7 December, 2016.
Insomniac Events is an American tour promoter that focuses primarily on electronic music events. The company organizes a number of major dance music festivals including its flagship Electric Daisy Carnival, and many other events such as Beyond Wonderland, Nocturnal Wonderland, and Together as One. They have organized festivals in Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, Brazil, Mexico, the UK, Japan, and India.
Insomniac Events is also a partner of the world famous concert company Live Nation, a billion dollar company who has hosted concerts with some of the world's biggest stars including U2, Shakira, Madonna, and Jay-Z. Owner of Insomniac Events, a company that was established in 1993, is Pasquale Rotella. The Chief Growth Officer is John Boyle. Both owners arrived in Split last night where they were met by the Croatian director of Ultra, Nikola Bušljeta, who also arrived in Split yesterday.
Split, as the host of Ultra Music Festival, has established themselves as a European destination for fans of electronic dance music from around the world. What most of us already know is that the contract between domestic partners and the organizers of Ultra expires next summer, something that Insomniac events has closely followed. With that said, the Insomniac organizers have decided to personally come to Split to see if there is potential in the city to host some of their biggest events.
What we can conclude from this is that Split next summer can certainly expect something to happen, but it remains to be seen whether this will be the Ultra Music Festival we know so well, or perhaps Electric Daisy Carnival, a known hit from the portfolio of Insomniac Events.
