Westgate Tower B: Progress on the Future Marriott International Hotel in Photos

By 19 June 2017

How is the progress going on Westgate Tower B - future home of Marriott International?

Last December, Splitska Banka moved into the first Westgate skyscraper. The 55-meters tall building boasts 13 floors that cover an area of 55,000 square meters, reports Dalmacija Danas on June 18, 2017.

The new Westgate north tower (Tower B) is currently under construction. The building, which was originally planned to have 18 floors, should see 27 floors and a height of 110 meters. Once construction comes to an end, Westgate Tower B will be the tallest structure in Split.

TCN reported back in April that Tower B will become home to the world's largest hotel chain "Marriott International.” The new hotel is scheduled to open its doors to visitors next year.

The new Marriott hotel would drastically increase the number of hotel rooms in Split (it was announced that the hotel would have 193 rooms), which should inevitably lead to an extension of the tourist season while revitalizing this part of town.

Here's a look at the construction of the building thus far through the lens of photographer Goran Leš.
