IKEA Opens in Split on Wednesday!

By 4 September 2017

It's finally here!

This Wednesday, September 6, 2017, an IKEA pickup point will open in Split at the City Center One shopping center, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on September 4, 2017.

Around five employees will man the location where customers will be able to pick up products that were previously ordered through the IKEA online store or bought at IKEA Zagreb.

This will, according to announcements from the Swedish giant, shorten the delivery time, while the cost of picking up goods at the Split Center will be fixed at 99 HRK for orders up to 1000 kilograms in weight.

“As we announced earlier, we are currently focusing on buyers on the coast, and after Rijeka, we also opened a pickup center in Split, and there are plans for a few more. We will continue to explore ways we can make our offer even more accessible to most citizens in Croatia, including improving the delivery cost,” said Suzana Rumbak Baretić, the logistics manager of IKEA Zagreb's department store.

The product pick up procedure is simple: First, customers must order the products online or buy them in the department store in Zagreb and choose the option to pick up the goods at the delivery center in Split. Once the items arrive, the buyer receives a message that the goods are ready for pickup and can be collected over for the next three days at the pickup center working hours, which will be open all seven days a week.

The additional 99 HRK will be payable for all orders above 1000 HRK. The lower order amounts will still be less than the dealers who offer their services through advertisements and who purchase and deliver items from the IKEA department store and charge between 10 and 12 percent, with the order placed directly to the customer's home address.

In case of "official" delivery, customers will still have the option of transportation from City Center One to their address.
