We’ve compiled a few of our favorite stories to share with you so far.

"Call me Mićo. Everyone knows me, and I am always at the same place. Before the summer, as long as I am not cold, I play at Marmontova, and from the tenth month I leisurely make my way to Trogir - it is nice for me there. Tell me something that I should sing for you, one quickly, come on.” He ended up playing Kiše Jesenje by Prljavo kazalište.

“Sit, honey, ask, come on. Well, what can I tell you? I am Žarka. When I was young I worked as a decorator; I loved doing that. That way you could edit and beautify everything. And now, now I am on a pension, and I love to sleep.”

"Well, I always read the newspaper, and now what I am reading is in between, but I still must read everything because then I feel as if something is missing. I buy newspapers on Wednesdays when there are national minorities, on Thursday’s I buy the work program, and on Saturdays and Sundays, I do not come here. I come here to relax a little between civilized people, to get out of the apartment a bit - I am bored there, and someone is always going up and down like in a circus. My peace is here.”

“I am from Slavonia, but I live here now, and I sell domestic beans, kulen and the like. This is what my family sends me from home, and then I sell it little by little.

“Do you like to laugh? For a photo?” said the photographer.

“More questions - it is normal that I love to laugh. Send them all to me, my dear. Go ahead, take a photo of me.”

“Laugh like children always, and love. And ladies, keep changing men because life is short so have fun as long as you can. And now, one song to sing. Maybe from Mišo.” She is 102 years old.
