Split to Venice by Private Transfer: You'll Never Travel Any Other Way

By 8 January 2018

Have you ever thought about using a private transfer for your trip?

Did you know that Split and Venice are only 7 hours apart by car? While that may seem like a lot for some of you, put yourself in my shoes - it takes 7 hours to drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and both cities are in the same state!

Maybe it’s because I am so accustomed to the drive, which gets considerably shorter time after time, or maybe it’s because any excuse for a road trip is a good one, but if you haven’t thought about adding Split and Venice on your road trip bucket list, today is the day.

Let’s break the trip down first. Split and Venice are 643.1 kilometers apart, which is roughly just under a 7-hour drive according to Google Maps. The suggested route, which is usually traveled by the E71 freeway, runs along parts of coastal and inland Croatia. For example, you’ll be right outside the cities of Šibenik and Zadar, Gospić and Delnice, and from Opatija to Trieste before you reach Venice.

The perks of a road trip? While there are many, just one of the bonuses includes being able to stop at whichever location you desire along the way, running on no one's schedule but yours. This is a sure way to see all the hidden gems of Croatia and Italy you’ll miss if you fly or take the bus.

Another reason that driving to Venice is better than other forms of public transport? Unfortunately, there are no direct buses from Split to Venice - so if you’re planning on making the journey by bus, you’ll have to travel to either Zagreb or Pula first, then continue on. And while flying seems like the most reasonable way to go between the two cities, there is still an unfortunately low number of flights between them. While 2018 is slated to be a better year with one additional flight a week, in the past, travelers could only choose from a single flight between Split and Venice a week, during the peak season! How can one plan their holiday around that?

Lucky for you, not only can you be a part of a leisurely drive from Split to Venice, but you don’t even have to be the one behind the wheel! By using Solo Transfers, travelers can book a vehicle for up to 3 passengers or a minivan for up to 7, for a single price per vehicle - not per person - for their trip from Split to Venice. And the best part? This includes luggage, too!
