Looking to be a temporary catering object on Žnjan for the next two years? Here’s what you should know.
We learned this afternoon that the tender for the temporary objects on Žnjan will be open for ten days, or until the 20th of April. Upon completion of the competition, there will be a public opening of the interested bidders. The minimum price per unit is 150,000 kuna annually, which includes an outdoor area of 288 square meters, or 170,000 kuna for an outdoor area of 384 square meters, reports Dalmatinski Portal on April 10, 2018.
But that’s not all. You must then add the fixed part of the cost which will be paid annually in the city budget, which is another 600 kuna per square meter for the terrace plus 45,000 kuna for the three modules that make up one unit (two catering and one storage). Therefore, for a single unit, future caterers will need to set aside some 367,000 to 420,000 kuna per year. The contract will also conclude after two years, and it is important to add that only one person can compete for a single object. The highest bidder will be granted the facility.
The contest for the ‘Split Kučice’ project was presented by Mayor Andro Krstulović Opara, the new director of Spalatum DMC Ante Šunjić, and the president of the Concession Authorization Board Duje Sučić.
“All facilities, as it is to date, will be next to the beach, except for one which will be located next to the former playground for children,” Šunjić said. Each of the eight locations in the offer consists of three modules, two catering and one storage, all of which are 12 square meters. The city will individually set up their modules of 12 square meters slightly further away from catering facilities. These will serve as WCs for all Žnjan visitors.
The mayor briefly introduced the new director of Spalatum DMC, then moved quickly to Žnjan, citing the quoted "paradigmatic example in Croatia" and that it will become a postcard of Split wider than the nation’s bounds.
Šunjić was thankful that DMC “remained alive" and that it sets a good example of a good company.
“I spent my working life in the banking sector. After 10 years, I accepted a new challenge - and Žnjan must become the most beautiful beach in the Adriatic,” said Šunjić.
The main criterion for a bidder of the ‘Split Kučice’’ is that they have money, but also that they have no debt to the city and state.
First, a pre-contract must be signed with Spalatum DMC, which the Concession Council then gives to the board to conclude that the contract is good for two years. This step has been introduced to override ‘whoever submits the request first will be given the object’.
“We have enabled transparency, which is the continuation of courageous and decisive moves on Žnjan by the mayor and this administration since the beginning of the mandate,” Sučić underlined.
