Local Musicians Come Together for Rock Version of Split's Theme Song 'Marjane, Marjane'

Tedi Spalato, Giuliano, Ivo Amulić, Tiho Orlić and Lovre Lučin joined forces in a new version of the famous Split hymn.

Encouraged by the upcoming celebration of the Split City Day and the exciting Simple Minds concert at Žnjan, Split musicians decided to give their town a new ceremonial hymn, reports Dalmacija Danas on May 3, 2018.

“Split is a city of music, great musicians and singers, people who like songs, people who like to sing, and there is no recording of the city hymn ‘Marjane, Marjane’ in a more festive tone. Thus, at one occasion when we were all discussing music, the idea was born at the initiative of the mayor of Split, Andro Krstulović Opara, to do so finally,” the group of musicians said.

The solid rock sound was arranged by Tiho Orlić and produced by Tomislav Mrduljaš. The singers, who are among the performers at the Riva concert on May 7, 2018, for Sveti Duje, include Tedi Spalato, Giuliano, Ivo Amulić, Tiho Orlić and Lovre Lučin.

“We think that ‘Marjane, Marjane’ will be listened to in high numbers and accepted by the audience,” the group of musicians said with glee.
