“Split Pride is a political protest aimed at drawing attention to the problems your fellow citizens, family members, friends, neighbors, and work colleagues belonging to a minority - the LGBTIQ community -  face. Split Pride is also an event that talks about diversity, advocates acceptance of identity and gender expression, advocates for sexual freedom, and opposes homophobia, transphobia and all forms of discrimination. This year, we would like to talk about the importance of acceptance,” said the United Split LGBTIQ scene.

The motto of this year's Pride is ‘Walk for Love’. The organizers have decided to use this motto because while it is easy to condemn those who are different, efforts must be made to love.

"We want to say how important it is to invest the effort needed to understand, to put yourself in someone else’s position and try to walk in their shoes. We know that it is much easier and simpler to ignore and dismiss them immediately, but if a little effort is made to understand, accepting diversity comes naturally. And then comes love,” the organizers added.

The United Split LGBTIQ scene is made up of several associations and enthusiasts (Bitcherin, Flomaster, queerAnarchive and Rišpet) and has invited everyone to join the parade in solidarity.

“We are aware that a lot of our fellow citizens support Pride in principle, but it would really mean a lot to come out and support Pride because, with more participants, our message is much more powerful. We also invite all members of the LGBTIQ community to join Pride and advocate for their rights and visibility,” concluded the United Split LGBTIQ scene.
