Ultra Europe Day One Recap: No Major Incidents, 6 Euro Heineken and Mixed Drinks

Day One of Ultra Europe was held on July 6, 2018.

Ultra Europe kicked off on Friday night at Poljud stadium in the sunny seaside city of Split. The 6th edition of the festival promises to be bigger and better than ever, and with a stacked lineup and thousands of festivalgoers from all parts of the world, the fist-pumping dream of die-hard electronic music lovers comes true in our ancient Dalmatian town.

The lineup for day one brought out DJ legends Eric Prydz, DJ Snake, Axwell Ingrosso and Afrojack, with music pumping until the early morning hours.

Here’s a look at what went down on Day One.

Food prices: If you’re hungry at Ultra Europe, you’ll be happy to know that there are plenty of food options on offer, including vegetarian options and international cuisine. Visitors to the festival should remember, however, that the festival is cashless, and contactless and standard Mastercard and Maestro cards are the official forms of payment for the festival.

One of the food offers at the festival included fries, chicken nuggets, hamburgers, and hotdogs. An order of fries will set festivalgoers back 35 kuna (4.7 euro), chicken nuggets 45 kuna (6 euro), fries and nuggets 55 kuna (7.5 euro), hamburger 55 kuna (7.5 euro), and a hot dog 40 kuna (5.4 euro).

Drink prices: Paying for drinks at any music festival is destined to break the bank, and we’ve heard that drink prices at Ultra are no friendlier. If you are planning on indulging at the festival, festivalgoers should know that a 0,4L of Heineken will cost them 45 kuna (6 euro), and 0,13L of mixed drinks including vodka-cranberry, vodka-mix, gin-tonic, Bacardi-cola, and Jack Daniels-cola will cost the same. A Strongbow cider is 5 kuna more at 50 kuna (6.75 euro) for 0,33L, and 0,33L of non-alcoholic Heineken 0.0 is 40 kuna (5.40 euro).

For the non-alcoholic beverages, 0,5L of still or sparkling water will cost 30 kuna (4 euro), while 0,33L of Pipi and 0,25L of Coca-Cola is also 30 kuna (4 euro). 0,25L of Red Bull is 40 kuna (5.40 euro).

Incidents: Before, during and after the first day of Ultra Europe at Poljud, no major security events were noted to disturb the public order and peace to a greater extent, harm the public or damage property. Four property crimes were reported. A total of 102 people were detained, including Croatian and foreign nationals, mostly because they violated the Drug Abuse Act, reports Dalmacija Danas

Reminders: Poljud Stadium will open its doors at 7 pm. Although organizers advise coming to the festival without a bag, if it is necessary, it must be plastic and transparent and not larger than 33x43 cm. Small clutch bags, straps, and waist bags will be allowed. Professional photo and video cameras and drones are banned, but GoPros and other action cameras are allowed. Any kind of flammable substances, sprays, alcoholic beverages and food, lasers, larger chains, water pistols, face masks, and any other kind of illegal substances are strictly prohibited at the venue of the festival. It is also forbidden to bring bottles, cans, open packets of cigarettes, medicines and eye drops, umbrellas, blankets, and any kind of chains. It is important to emphasize that visitors must have a valid identification document or a driver's license. Medical assistance, free water booths, ATMs, mobile phone chargers, a variety of food products including vegetarian and international cuisine, information counters as well as counters for lost items, helpful staff and a clean and safe environment are just some of the services that will make it easy to stay and complement the festival guests' experience at Poljud.
