A 6-course wine pairing at Brasserie on 7 this October you won't want to miss.
We know that we rave about the offseason time and time again, but the examples of why Split is best outside of the summer continue to present themselves. Today, we have yet another - a special 6-course menu from the famous Riva restaurant Brasserie on 7.
Now, this isn’t just any 6-course meal, and we know you already know that, considering Brasserie is known to pull out all of the stops for their guests. Namely, Brasserie has organized a 6-course ‘Wine Pairing Dinner’, featuring the one and only Deklić winery from Istria - and if you don’t know about Deklić Winery, you'll want to keep reading.
The Deklić family, hailing from the Ferenci village near Vižinada in Istria, have been winemakers since 1920. Today, they have over 17 hectares of vineyards and produce mostly Malvasia, though they boast other varieties including Chardonnay, Yellow Muscat, Rose, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Teran.
And you get to try them paired with delicious bites from Brasserie.
A perfect combination of six courses, the wine pairing menu is as follows:
Prawn with rice, parsnip and, béarnaise, paired with the Grazia Brut.
Scallops with carrot, citrus, raspberries, paired with the Malvasia 2017.
Ravioli with duck, goat cheese, pumpkin and coffee, paired with the Chardonnay 2017.
‘Turbo’ with rice, chestnut, jus, paired with the Teran 2016.
Veal with beetroot and potatoes confit, paired with the Cabernet Sauvignon 2016.
Lemon tart with walnut, vanilla ice cream, and lemon, paired with the Muscat 2017.
The event will take place on October 26, 2018, and is 270 kuna per person. Seating is limited, so booking early is encouraged!
