2018 has been a good year for ACI Marina - and they're just getting started.
ACI has focused on environmental protection for many years, especially in the marine environment, and earlier this year, their cooperation with the Green Sail Initiative was achieved to create environmentally sound waste management practices. In particular, ACI sought to raise environmental awareness among boaters, employees and business partners, reports HRTurizam on April 28, 2018.
In line with the new trends and the environmental standard, in collaboration with Tesla, a group of ACI marinas in Croatia have already seen the installation of electric car chargers in 2017, including ACI Umag, Cres, Opatija, Split, Veljko Barbieri and Dubrovnik. Before the start of the summer season, the marinas of Pomer, Rovinj, Supetarska Draga, Jezera, Vodice, Simuni, Milna, Vrboska and Korčula will also see electric car chargers.
Following the outstanding results of ACI's booking system and customer satisfaction, activities on the development of digital sales and communication channels continued - and a new ACI mobile application has been available to seafarers since mid-April, providing a simple booking process and a host of other information on the various marinas. In just a few clicks, users can book in advance and pay the berth fee for any ACI marina to thus avoid the crowds at the marina and the wait at reception. The ACI Online Booking service is free of charge for all users year round, as well as to charter boats that use ACI marinas throughout the year.
ACI has also introduced new security procedures and has enhanced the WI-FI and video surveillance systems in several ACI marinas. ACI even proposed ISO standards for their quality, environmental and energy management system and expects certification before the summer season.
In the first three months of 2018, ACI achieved a 4% increase in total revenues compared to the same time last year. Total revenues of 33.7 million kuna were 1.3 million kuna higher than the previous year. The overall business income increased by 8% compared with the previous year, amounting to 31.4 million kuna. This increase was the result of revenue growth in all business segments, according to ACI, adding that revenues from long-term connections increased by 6%, monthly connections by 16%, daily connections by 76%, leasing by 14%, other services provided for sailors by 13%, while other business income increased by 20%.
"Due to the seasonality of the business, and the fact that the most significant part of the expenditures are realized during this period due to the intensive investments and the preparation of the season, the business results in the first quarter of the year are usually negative, but in comparison to the previous year, the negative result was down by 21% and amounted to 3.9 million kuna,” said ACI, and added that in 2018, they plan to invest 188 million kuna in modernizing and increasing the quality of the nautical offering, as well as opening the ACI Rovinj in July, with a total reconstruction worth 160 million kuna.
