A lot of work for HTZ officials.
In recent days, Croatian tourism has been presented at several major international events. The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) presented the Croatian tourist offer at the 11th ITB Asia 2018 fair, held in Singapore from 17 to 19 October. This year's edition has attracted a record number of exhibitors, and the three-day program was held at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands, with the central theme "Reinterpretation of the Travel". In addition to the HTZ, the Zagreb Tourist Board and the representatives of travel agencies Swanky Travel and Atlantis Travel also participated at the fair, reports Večernji List on October 20, 2018.
The HTZ stand manager Franka Gulin pointed out that representatives of tourist agencies, various institutions and creative agencies specializing in outbound tourism from India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and the Middle East had shown the largest interest in Croatia. Katrina Leung, the general manager of Messe Berlin, which organizes ITB Asia, said that the fair continues to be the leading of its kind in Asia.
In addition to the participation in the Singapore event, the HTZ representative office in New York, which also covers the Canadian market, together with the Zagreb City Tourism Board, presents Croatia's tourist offer at the 30th International Tourism & Travel Show taking place in Montreal from 19 to 21 October. It is one of the most visited tourist fairs in Canada, which will be visited by some 35,000 visitors this year, who will have the opportunity to see the presentations of 400 exhibitors from 100 countries around the world.
The director of HTZ representative office in New York Ina Rodin pointed out that Canadian travelers were among the top 10 tourist consumers in the world. “For Croatia, it is very important that direct flights have been established between Toronto and Zagreb, and between Toronto and Split starting from next year. This confirms the great potential and significance of Canada as one of the top five distant markets for Croatia, which has been growing at a high double-digit rate over the last few years,” said Rodin.
The Croatian National Tourist Board also participated at the specialized congress tourism fair IMEX America, which took place from 16 to 18 October in Las Vegas. More than 3,500 exhibitors from 150 countries around the world were present at the fair, and the Croatian National Tourist Board was joined by the Dubrovnik Town Tourist Board, the Zagreb City Tourist Board, Elite Travel and Katarina Line.
