After the construction of the tallest skyscraper in Croatia came to a halt, works on the unfinished northern tower of the Westgate project in Split should be revived.
Recall, in September, the main contractor for the 27-floor skyscraper, which will house the first Marriott hotel in Croatia, was removed from the project. The Zagreb company "Tehnika" and Davor Pavlov, a board member of the "Westgate Group", told Slobodna Dalmacija in an interview that by the end of that month, they should know the fate of Tehnika as a contractor, which depended on the overall dynamics of construction, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on December 3, 2018.
However, the fate of Tehnika seems to have been known for some time now. Namely, on the official site of the "LSG Group," it was announced that "LSG Building Solutions" was selected as "a quality and competent contractor on this building".
The investment value of all floors of "Westgate" will be around 260 million kuna, and the works will begin immediately after the completion of the project documentation. The deadline for completing the works is the fourth quarter of 2019, with the clarification that "Westgate Tower" has signed a contract for a hotel building with accompanying content, they announced on the site.
The new contractor was also confirmed by Pavlov.
“After the break in construction due to business difficulties with Tehnika, we are now planning on continuing construction. Significant breakthroughs have been made by signing a contract with the international company LSG Group, which will assume the role of the new contractor,” said the leader of this significant investment.
“We are currently meeting with HBOR, who is funding the project, with the new project structure and contractor, for which we expect their approval and the beginning of construction,” Pavlov said at the beginning of the project, which was named the most beautiful business center in Europe according to the “International Property Awards”.
If all goes to plan, the first Marriott hotel in Croatia should open its doors in the skyscraper known as the "Dalmatia tower" before the start of the tourist season in 2020.
After "Sky Tower" in Bucharest which has 37 floors, and is one of the largest buildings in Romania, LSG will have another record building to reference.
