By 30 November 2015

Online shopping in Croatia - meet Konzum Klik.

Konzum retail chain unveiled on Monday its new concept of an online store – Konzum Klik, an investment worth 30 million kuna.  The investment includes the construction and equipping of a new logistics centre on more than 5,000 square metres of space in Vrbani district in Zagreb and a complete redesign of the website, along with a number of additional features, reports Poslovni.hr on November 30, 2015.

According to Darko Knez, general manager of Konzum, "Konzum Klik is the beginning of a new era in online sales of food and beverages in Croatia. Although Konzum is the first and only retailer in this segment, it will continue with investments and improvements of its services, since we believe that this is the future of shopping", Knez said and added that in the next year they expect to increase online sales up to three times.

He announced that starting from January next year, a drive-in service will be introduced as part of the logistics centre. Customers will be able to personally collect ordered products within two hours after the completion of the transaction.

"Konzum will continue to improve its Konzum Klik service to make it more accessible to customers throughout Croatia. Therefore, we plan to expand the delivery service to several large cities (Rijeka, Osijek, Split), as well as to achieve further expansion in the region", Knez said and announced and that in two weeks they plan to open a renovated Konzum retail shop in Vukovarska Street in Zagreb.

About 8,000 items are currently available to customers in the online shop, and the range of items will expand according to customer requirements. Minimum order is 200 kuna, prices are the same as in Super Konzum shops, while the delivery is free if the order is worth more than 500 kuna. According to available data, the average Konzum online shopping cart is currently worth around 630 kuna and has more than 50 items. About 41 percent of online shoppers are between 30 and 39 years old.

Konzum representatives also point out that the new Konzum Klik website is a lot more user-friendly, and one of the most interesting new features is the ability for customers to see the photo and name of the delivery person.
