New business success for Croatia’s food giant.
Podravka has signed a contract for the sale of its products worth up to 300,000 dollars in Qatari shops. The distribution contract, as announced by Podravka, was signed with a renowned Qatari distributor, Arabian Supplies, which is a subsidiary of one of the strongest Qatari groups, Tadmur Holding, reports tportal.hr on April 24, 2017.
The contract was signed by Hany Al Sayed, managing director of Arabian Supplies, and Nermin Salman, executive director of Podravka Gulf FZE.
Although Podravka has been present in the Qatari market for two years, the signing of the deal with Arabian Supplies will enable the company to have a strong partner that will help it enter all retail outlets in Qatar. It will also provide for the long-term growth in one of the key markets in the region of the Middle East and North Africa.
Podravka has been intensifying its business operations in the market over the past two years by opening its own branch office at the Jebel Ali Free Zone, in the United Arab Emirates.
Podravka is actively present in 9 countries throughout the Middle East and the North African region and has achieved excellent business results. It has adapted its business processes to the specifics of this market and to the needs of its inhabitants. The complete range of products was adapted to Arabic language, new products have been developed, and the halal certification process has been successfully implemented.
“In addition to Qatar, earlier this year we agreed long-term projects with local partners in Oman and Kuwait. We have also created preconditions for the systematic approach to Egypt, Bahrain, Iraq and Lebanon. Initial results show that buyers and consumers have demonstrated the most interest for Vegeta supplements and soups, Kviki snacks, and Lino creamy dresses. In addition, we also take care of the needs of the large Croat community in Qatar, who want to be able to buy products such as Vegeta supplements, soups, Čokolino, Lino Lada, ajvar and other products. They are waiting for the expansion of the product range and for the stronger presence of Podravka as the strongest Croatian food company,” said Nermin Salman, executive director of Podravka Gulf FZE.
