Plenković: 14 Contracts Worth More than 180 Million Kuna will be Signed

By 5 August 2017

"This is a message to Knin and a serious sign from the Croatian government on the implementation of the recently adopted Regional Development Strategy" stated Plenković.

As Poslovni Dnevnik reported on the 5th of August, 2017, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Friday that half of the Government session in Knin will be devoted to various projects of importance to the city and to Šibenik-Knin County as a whole, with emphasis being placed on the fact that 14 contracts worth more than 180 million kuna will be signed.

"Practically half a session will be devoted to various projects of importance to this city and to Šibenik-Knin County - for economic growth, housing and development," Plenković told reporters before the session of the Government in Knin.

Noting that 14 contracts worth more than 180 million kuna are set to be signed, Plenković appeared to send a clear signal to the public that his Government does not want to hold these sessions in other cities across the nation (Vukovar, Sisak, Knin etc) in just a symbolic sense, but that it is an opportunity for those parts of the country that are deprived for various reasons to be placed high on the agenda and to encourage the equitable development of the Republic of Croatia.

"This is a message to Knin and a serious sign from the Croatian Government regarding the implementation of the recently adopted Regional Development Strategy," Plenković said.

Asked how much the new law on Croatian War Veterans and their families would cost, Plenković said that his goal was to fill certain gaps and to correct certain injustices that have been allowed to exist so far. He also made sure to add that full coordination between the Ministry of Croatian Defenders, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Labour and Pension System was ensured in inter-departmental coordination.

"All the analysis has shown that such a law is good, content, and fiscally viable" he stressed.

Upon a journalist's request regarding the redemption of MOL's stake in INA and selling more than 25 percent of HEP shares, Plenkovic reiterated that the Government did not give up on the redemption of MOL's stake in INA. Related to the sale of more than 25 percent of HEP shares, he replied that the sale of the aforementioned shares was an intention on the agenda a few months ago and that it is still one of the intentions.
