Updating the Riva: Cavtat's Big Project Totals 23 Million Kuna

By 30 September 2017

Some big changes in the works for Croatia's southernmost town!

As Dubrovnik Press Portal reports on the 30th of September, 2017, the ''doing up'' of the riva and the somewhat neglected road along the waterfront in Cavtat was a council matter which the Mayor of Konavle, Božo Lasić, addressed to Councillor Srđan Meštrović at the session of the Konavle Municipal Council.

Konavle's Mayor, Božo Lasić, pointed out that a building permit was issued for the Cavtat riva project. He proposed to the President of the Municipal Council, Ivo Simović, to put a point on the agenda of one of the Council's next sessions where the councillors will be formally introduced to the project, as well as to properly discuss the Cavtat riva project in more depth.

''The building permit has been issued for Cavtat's riva and I suggest that at one of the sessions of the Municipal Council, we invite representatives of the County Port Authority to present the project to us. It is worth about 23 million kuna and they're trying to find the [financial] means for the realisation of the project. We've managed to find the [financial] means for the Cavtat intersection and there is no reason that we won't manage to get the means to repair the riva,'' stated Lasić, pointing out that the Municipality's intention is to re-tarmac the road which runs along the riva, too.
