The yacht will travel to the Arctic and Antarctica.
The Uljanik Shipyard in Pula is building a 165-metre-long yacht for the Scenic company from Australia, which specialises in luxury cruises. The ship will take tourists to the Arctic and Antarctic regions, reports 24sata.hr on November 21, 2017.
With its design and amenities, Scenic Eclipse yacht will represent a truly unique tourist experience. The Australian company advertises the ship as the world's first six-star exploration yacht. Among other amenities, there will be two helicopters and a submarine on board. The delivery is planned for next year when it will sail for the first time. The number of passengers will be limited to 228, whom will be taken care of by 170 crew members.
The 114 cabins will be spacious and comfortable, each with at least 32 square metres of floor area. The largest suits will have up 100 square metres.
The yacht will also have a 233-square-metre penthouse with two bedrooms, as well as bars, several restaurants, a heated swimming pool with a retractable roof, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, and a 240-seat theatre.
All cabins will have balconies, and the yacht will have stabilisers so that it does not roll much, regardless of the weather conditions at sea. Helicopters will take tourists to coastal areas, for example, in Antarctica, in order to experience unique landscapes and see penguins and other animals, while the submarine will be able to carry seven people so that passengers could watch underwater landscapes, whales and seals.
According to unofficial information, the price of a trip will be around 150,000 dollars per person.
Scenic Eclipse is the first super-luxury yacht being constructed in Croatia. Although the cost of the construction is a business secret, it is reportedly somewhere around 200 million euros. The luxury yacht will have a double hull, enabling it to sail through up to 80 centimetres of ice.
