Croatian Software Giant IN2 Expanding Internationally

By 22 December 2017

Big plans for further development.

The IN2 software group, which has executed more than 200 projects in Croatia and the world in the past 25 years, will record business growth this year as well, and plans to transform from a regional into a global group in the long run, reports tportal.hr on December 22, 2017.

In the last five years, from 2012 to 2017, the average annual growth in revenues for IN2 Zagreb was around eight percent, and for the whole IN2 Group around 13 percent. “This year, we were focused on exports, and we have achieved several important references in the Asian market, where we plan further growth in the coming years. Some of the projects abroad which marked this year were the computerisation of hospitals in Azerbaijan, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates and the serialisation for the pharmaceutical industry in India,” says CEO of IN2 Ante Mandić.

Next year, he expects the continuation of positive trends. “With the right strategic partners, IN2 has the knowledge, capacity and quality to make a step forward, which is not only an ambition but a necessity, since Croatia in the last few years has not seen the growth of the economy as in other parts of the world, and therefore investments in IT and related services are modest. Although we have been expecting larger strategic projects funded by the EU for years, that has not yet happened, and our company is too large to operate only in the Croatian market,” said Mandić.

He added that the IN2 group currently had more than 650 IT experts and was continuously employing new staff, although that has been a growing challenge. “Finding quality staff in many industries, especially in IT, has been a major challenge in recent years, and the trend of our potential staff leaving overseas is worrying. We have cases of people leaving from our company as well, with whole families moving to Ireland, Sweden, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, and this is, unfortunately, the reality with which we have to live,” said Mandić, adding that another major problem for the IT industry is that they see Croatia as a good outsourcing market.

IN2 is a private company founded in 1992, as an enterprise for developing business solutions. Today, after 25 years of existence, the company is named the IN2 Group and owns a number of businesses and has significant presence in other regional countries as well – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Slovenia, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo.

Of more than 200 projects which they carried out over 25 years, some were strategically important. Since 2000, they have also been involved heavily in investment banking and pension funds, and have developed a product which is now used in six countries.

Mandić says they want to be at least a regional company until they are strong enough for global operations. “That is why we now have companies in all parts of Croatia and all the countries of the region, and we are doing projects all the way to South East Asia. Organic growth is tedious and slow and, since 2007, we have accelerated it with the acquisition of smaller software companies in order to complete our portfolio of products and services,” concluded Mandić.
