Time for the Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) and the Ministry of Tourism to turn their sights towards continental Croatia.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 17th of January, 2018, a huge 48 million kuna investment awaits Terme Jezerčica. The funds will be poured into several new projects, camp construction, hotel expansions and a water park, as well as a restaurant and wellness center, announced to Wednesday's announcement at the meeting of Terme Jezerčica's management and Željko Kolar, Krapina-Zagorje's Prefect.
A camp consisting of 15 mobile homes and 30 camping pitches should be opened at the beginning of May this year, and the value of that investment stands at about 8 million kuna. Around five million kuna will be invested in the upgrading of the central restaurant, the main entrance with a reception and a wellness center, and the construction of a new outdoor park with another pool and numerous other attractions. The plan is that part of this investment will be completed by the beginning of the swimming season, and the rest by autumn.
A further 35 million kuna investment is being announced for the hotel's 66 additional rooms, the investment is expected to be co-financed by European Structural Funds. Elvis Pavleković, Terme Jezerčica's director, pointed out that camps are among the most profitable segments in tourism, and the they're somewhat rare in Krapina-Zagorje County.
Prefect Željko Kolar pointed out that the overall occupancy of the hotel in Donja Stubica is higher than 80 percent, an encouraging 93 percent higher than usual in January. Terme Jezerčica acheived 29,000 overnight stays last year, with an impressive net turnover of 18.5 million kuna.
"We're working with tourism 365 days a year, and it's an ideal time for the Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian National Tourist Board to understand one part of the cake about the promotions directed towards the Adriatic should be shifted to continental tourism," said the Prefect of Krapina-Zagorje.
