Something new on the cards for Vis!
As Morski writes on the 9th of February, 2018, Vis City Council has issued a decision on the development of the urban planning for the port open to public transport as well as nautical tourism in Parja-Rogačić.
This port and marina project has been being spoken about and discussed on several levels for a number of years, and will be located in one of the most beautiful bays on the island of Vis, the bay of Parja on the northwestern side of the island, only 1.5km from the center of the town of Vis, according to a report from Slobodna Dalmacija.
Luka (Port) Parja-Rogačić covers an area of about three hectares of land. The port for international traffic will be renovated, as well as the port for nautical tourism with up to 250 berths, and the marina will be separated from the port.
This is a project for the entire island we've been preparing for six years now. Vis port, which is encircled during the summer months due to the numerous passengers and vessels, will have its ''life'' made significantly easier with the relocation of passenger traffic, and the nautical sector will be relieved of many of its current woes and burdens.
On top of everything, more good news follows as fifty new jobs are set to be opened, the road will be done up, and if all goes well, Mayor Ivo Radica stated that he hopes to know the investor in 2020, this project is otherwise worth more than 150 million kuna.
