By 9 March 2018

ZAGREB, March 9, 2018 - Seven grant agreements, worth 182 million kuna in total, were signed at the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds on Friday. The agreements relate to e-services, healthcare, welfare and emergency response programmes for war-affected and economically deprived areas. 161 million kuna, or 87 percent of the total amount, will come from EU funds, the Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Gabrijela Žalac said.

The most valuable of the seven agreements is one for the development of eHZZO, the integrated information system of the Croatian Health Insurance Fund. Its total value is 114.7 million kuna, of which 98 million kuna is non-repayable.

Two more agreements concern healthcare. One, worth 46.4 million kuna, is intended for day hospitals and surgery wards at Šibenik General Hospital and the other, worth 6.7 million kuna, is to improve access to and the quality of primary healthcare services in Šibenik-Knin County.

A 2.7 million kuna agreement was signed with local government in Vukovar to prepare documentation for the construction of a building that will house the local Secondary School of Economics. The building is to be completed within the next three years.

A 3.4 million kuna agreement was signed with the Welfare Centre in Donja Stubica to encourage deinstitutionalisation by improving infrastructure. 998,000 kuna will go to Benkovac to develop theme routes of ancient and medieval towns in the area, while 7 million kuna will be used to renovate the Branjin Vrh community centre in Beli Manastir.

Minister Žalac said that Croatia had access to 10.7 billion euro from EU funds and had so far signed contracts worth 37% of that amount, or about 4 billion euro.
