The Croatian Chamber of Economy organized an Aral-Croatian Business Forum in Sydney this month.
An Aral-Croatian Business Forum was held in Sydney on March 12th, organized by the Croatian Chamber of Economy, which was attended by twenty representatives of Croatian companies and over 100 representatives of Australian companies. Attendees were welcomed by Dr. Damir Kušen - Croatian Ambassador to Australia, Jason Collins - Executive Director of the European Australian Business Council, Iannis Patin - Executive Director of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, and on behalf of the Croatian Business Delegation, Zlatan Fröhlich – President of Croatian Chamber of Economy. One of the points discussed was that there are real opportunities for increasing commodity exchange, especially in the fields of energy, electrical industry, food industry and tourism due to the growing number of Australian tourists as 210.000 visited Croatia in 2017.
Four Australian Croatian Chambers of Economy that operate in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Canberra and Consulate General of the Republic of Croatia in Sydney gave their support to this Business Forum. The signing of the Australia–European Union Free Trade Agreement is expected to contribute to an increase in the economic exchange between Croatia and Australia.
Around 200.000 Croatian emigrants live in Australia and are an essential link in strengthening economic, cultural and social ties between the two countries. The Croatian delegation was received at the Parliament of New South Wales and attended the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the towns of Osijek and Canada Bay. The visit ended in Brisbane, where a Business Forum was held with representatives of the state of Queensland.
