How Does a UK Initiative Teach Croatian Kids Coding? Find Out in Latest Video by British Embassy in Zagreb

By 28 March 2018

The British Embassy in Zagreb explores how a UK initiative helps Croatian kids learn how to code.

As we introduced to our readers a few weeks ago, the British Embassy in Zagreb has launched a new video series titled “What Links Us Together”, exploring the human ties between the UK and Croatia. Specifically, the series details the people who have travelled between the two countries to work, study, or simply enjoy what each country has to offer.

While the first story we introduced to TCN readers was the fifth in this series discovering Vuk Vuković and Oraclum Intelligent Systems (you might remember them for their near perfect prediction of Donald Trump’s US election win), for their seventh video in this series, the British Embassy meets Ana Nikolić and Marin Trošelj.

Two incredibly ambitious people, Ana Nikolić and Marin Trošelj are responsible for launching Code Club Croatia based on a UK initiative to start free coding clubs for kids. The ultimate goal is to equip children in Croatia with the digital skills of the future. Today, there are now 40 clubs in Croatia.

In the video below, Ana Nikolić and Marin Trošelj explain to viewers what Code Club is, why they decided to launch it in Croatia, and how exactly they are teaching kids the skills they need for the future.
