ZAGREB, April 3, 2018 - The volume of construction works in January 2018 was 6.8% higher than in the same month of 2017, which is the highest increase since December 2016, and a rate higher than the EU average, showed preliminary statistics published by the national statistical office (DZS).
According to the DZS's seasonally and working-day adjusted data, the index of construction work volume in January was 0.9% lower than in December.
Year-on-year, the volume of work done on buildings in January was up 6.8%.
The volume of construction work on other structures – roads, railways, pipelines, bridges, dams, sports venues, etc. – was 0.3% lower.
