Skladgradnja to perform construction works on Montenegrin motorways.
Croatian construction company Skladgradnja, led by its directors Slaven Žužul and Jozo Žužul, signed a major contract yesterday in the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica. The deal involves the construction works on the Smokovac-Uvac-Mateševo segment of the Bar-Boljare motorway, a major road which will connect the northern and southern parts of Montenegro. The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of Chinese investors, as well as by the Croatian Ambassador in Montenegro Ivana Perić, reports Poslovni.hr on March 9, 2016.
Choosing between many strong contenders, the Chinese company (China Road and Bridge Corporation) has decided to award the contract to Skladgradnja. The two companies will now jointly implement this major project for Montenegro. The 34,500,000 euros worth contract includes the construction of bridges, tunnels, several underpasses, retaining walls, and the road works.
Skladgradnja director Slaven Žužul said in a statement that his company was excited to work with the Chinese partner company. "I would like to thank China Road and Bridge Corporation for choosing us and for believing in us. We are happy we got the opportunity to work with such an important Chinese company. I believe this is the beginning of a successful cooperation, and not just on this project, but also on the future projects which will be implemented by CRBNC, which is achieving excellent results with its 50,000 employees and its global business network", Žužul said.
He added the works will start in about a month. "Our plan is to hire more than 200 people. Works on the first section will last more than two years", he noted.
Skladgradnja is one of Croatia's major companies in the area of construction and building. It has been involved in many important infrastructure projects around the country, including the construction of the connection road between the Ploče Port and the city of Ploče and the construction of the flood protection system in Metković.
