Can the state finally get rid of Dubrovnik's Maestral Hotels?
The state has been trying to get rid of some coastal hotels still under its ownership for a considerable amount of time now, and Dubrovnik's beautiful Maestral Hotels (Hoteli Maestral) appears to have become a bit of a thorn in their side.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 9th of August, 2018, on Thursday, the Centre for Restructuring and Sales (CERP) announced a new method of defining the procedure for collecting binding offers for the purchase of a majority stake of (a 68.94 percent share) in the Maestral Hotels located in Dubrovnik, at an initial price of 126.8 million kuna.
At its session Wednesday, CERP ruled out the decision made on the 26th of July on the starting price and the implementation process of the collection of binding offers for the purchase of the hotel's shares, bringing in a new set of rules regarding the rather lengthy procedure.
According to the new decision made by CERP, potential bidders will now no longer be obliged to submit a plan for investment in the development of Hotel Maestral with their binding offers.
