ZAGREB, August 19, 2018 - In June 2018, 602 building permits were issued in Croatia, down 18.2% on the year, for works totalling 1.37 billion kuna, down 33.1% on the year, the national statistical office has said.
Of those permits, 509 (84.6%) were issued for buildings and 93 (15.4%) for other structures.
Furthermore, broken down by type of construction, 440 (73%) were issued for new construction and 162 (27%) for reconstruction. The permits envisaged the building of 782 flats, 45 more than in June 2017.
In the first half of 2018, 4,450 building permits were issued, 179 fewer than in H1 2017, for works totalling 11 billion kuna, down 15.6%. The permits envisaged the building of 5,445 flats, 240 less than in H1 2017.
