A new majority owner for Rijeka's Viktor Lenac shipyard.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 20th of September, 2018, Rijeka's Viktor Lenac shipyard now has a new owner, the Italian Palumbo Group, which is headquartered in Naples.
For the first time in its recent history, the Martinšćica shipyard has been acquired by a majority owner who, judging by the way things look at the minute, has actually become its absolute owner. That conclusion has been arrived to owing to the information that the Italians, allegedly, have now gained more than 80 percent of the shares in Viktor Lenac.
Official information and the final report about Palumbo's public offer to take over the shipyard which ended late last week, will follow in the coming days, according to a report from Novi list.
However, there seems to be no doubt on the matter of ownership, the real question revolves solely around the exact and final percentage of shares.
Yesterday, the Italians made their very first de facto business decision within Lenac by voting that all 37 million kuna of last year's record profit would remain within Lenac as retained profit.
They refused, namely, a counterproposal on dividend payments.
