Croatia’s Smarthome Solution Helps You Manage Your Home from Distance

By 1 June 2016

Smarthome by Iskon is an innovative system for monitoring, managing and protecting your home.

Iskon, a Croatian telecom operator, has presented its innovative system for home managing from the distance, and the company has huge ambition to market the technologies and products in Croatia and abroad, reports liderpress.hr on June 1, 2016.

Smarthome involves a central unit, video camera, a smart outlet and a movement sensor, together with a climate sensor. The system works with mobile apps for Android and iOS to allow users to see what the situation at home is at any moment. Depending on the settings, smartphone receives notifications about the changes related to certain features, such as temperature, humidity and movements. The system allows continuous upgrades, while the central unit is able to control and record the data coming from up to 30 sensors.

In addition to the ease of use, Iskon.Smarthome can also be adapted to user needs. For instance, the system can be used to save energy by programming a washing machine or some other home appliances. Moreover, the camera allows the user to check what the kids or pets are doing or to even detect an intruder.

“Because of the fact that the system can be easily installed and start functioning effortlessly, Iskon.Smarthome has immediately become a part of my everyday life. Some time ago my home was broken into, but now I am much more carefree. Another example is that I had difficulties with humidity at my vacation home, and I started controlling the humidity levels with a humidifier. Now I can do all that from the distance by using the app”, said Iskon founder Damir Sobol, who was the first person to try Smarthome system.

Iskon representatives emphasized that the basic package will be upgraded and that the central unit can also work with smart devices from other manufacturers. A series of additional sensors, as well as the support for Osram smart bulbs has been announced for the autumn to allow for the ambient lighting control.
