Great opportunity for university students to invest in their future.
Croatian software company Infinum is organizing for the second time the Infinum Student Academy, a free summer course for programming of software platform solutions, reports tportal.hr on June 10, 2016.
Students will have the opportunity to learn to develop mobile web applications using the latest available methods and technology. Lecturers will be developers from Infinum who will use lectures, homework and consultations with students to guide them through the entire process of creating a modern mobile and web application.
Since the need for qualified IT professionals is constantly growing, the knowledge gained at such a course will help prepare young students for the future job market.
Infinum is conducting this project at its own initiative and its own expense in order to contribute to the local community, find potential employees and consequently raise the competitiveness of Croatia in the global IT market.
“We strongly advocate for the modernization of education and we believe that the IT education is the key for a healthier economic picture and a better future”, said Matej Špoler, the co-founder and CTO of Infinum. “We are working with technologies and knowledge that can change from month to month. We want to give our students the opportunity to be educated in the same or a better way than their colleagues in Silicon Valley or San Francisco.”
Last year, the Infinum Academy received more than 250 applications, and accepted some 55 students who completed the course. According to the company itself, the student afterwards mostly got employed at Infinum, at other Croatian IT companies, and some have even used the knowledge to start their own projects.
Applications are open until 15 June, and the course will start on 4 July.
