Croatian Solar Bus Stops Generate Interest in Abu Dhabi

By 17 June 2016

The price of the station starts from 3,400 Euro, made of the most resistant materials, with almost no maintenance for the electric equipment

Riding the tram and bus are common things for many individuals, including the waiting at stops that may seem endless. To change that, the Energomobil company came to the idea to create a bus stop in line with the trends, technologically advanced and ecstatically attractive, functioning exclusively on solar power, Poslovni Dnevnik reports on June 7, 2016.

They wondered why passengers waiting for a tram or bus couldn’t recharge their phones, go online, easing their wait considerably. Therefore they developed a new product, designed and produced in Croatia - the EasyBus solar bus station. The price of the station starts from 3,400 Euro + VAT, which is, Energomobil states, a very favourable price considering its energy independency. The construction is steel, seats are from Hpl laminates (a material resistant to all weather conditions), all electric equipment is from renown manufacturers of solar products and tempered glass on the back adds to the visual appearance and safety.

The very maintenance of the station has been reduced to a minimum, while the electric equipment requires none, only an occasional battery change. As director of Energomobil Marija Mrvelj states, after the first presentation of solar stations in public, many have shown interest. “We have been contacted from the United Arab Emirates who presented the idea to their Transportation Ministry and are interested to construct them in Abu Dhabi. Egypt, Greece, many African countries... interest is all around as such products are, for now, scarce in the world market, and ones that do exist are generally quite expensive,” claims Mrvelj and mentions the road to such a product is not simple at all.

“An entire team of people is engaged and maximally devoted to the creation of every element. From designers, engineers, architects, welders, painters, electricians... All breath together as one until the final product is released. SO, there is no greater success than to see content on the faces of potential buyers,” admits Energomobil director. It all began with a company dealing with import and sales of renewable energy sources products.

“Six years ago we began this adventure and firmly believed we will make it. At the time not many companies were in sales of such products and people weren’t familiar with them, so the risk was great. We knew this is the future of economical progress, which we have proved, as our company is one of the leading in Croatia. Following in world trends in renewable energy sources and listening to the pulse of cities we sensed the need to develop smart solar products,” Marija Mrvelj says.
