The story of storks Malena and Klepetan, part of the Jana - Water With a Message campaign, has won the bronze Lion in Cannes Lions, most important festival of creative advertising
The lion statue, never before given to a Croatian campaign, thanks to a story of love told by Jana and the Imago Ogilvy agency, has been awarded in the Branded Content & Visual Storytelling category, Tportal.hr reported on June 27, 2016.
This year there were over 43,000 entries from around the world. Although domestic agencies have won awards in international competitions, no one has come close to a lion before.
“I am quite proud of this prestigious and significant recognition to Jana, my entire team in Jamnica and Agrokor and the Imago team headed by Damir Ciglar, who worked on the Jana - Water With a Message campaign, the edition titled Only Love, the story of Malena and Klepetan. I would like to thank all our buyers who inspire us to be more creative and better, after all we’re doing this for them,” pointed out Iva Balent, executive director of marketing of the Agrokor concern.
Total News Croatia wrote about the story of Malena and Klepetan storks in March of this year.
The Cannes Lions is the most important advertising festival in the world and an advertising Oscar, where just being in the finals means more than winning awards in other world festivals.
“Great visions make great ideas, great ideas make great works. The campaign with the anticipation of Klepetan grew beyond the frame of classical advertising and became much more than product promotion. When a brand can go beyond talking about love, but enabling people to feel and share love with others, then it’s a big deal. Only such ideas can win over jury members of Cannes Lions and only such ideas can win the most prestigious awards fought over by the largest agencies and advertisers in the world,” said Darko Bosnar, Art&Innovation director of Imago Ogilvy agency.
