Croatian Acrobatic Display Team “Wings of Storm” Wins First Prize in Britain

Croatian Air Force’s acrobatic display team impressed at the Royal International Air Tatoo air show.

The acrobatic display team of Croatian Air Force and Air Defence “Wings of Storm” (Krila Oluje) performed at the international military air show Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) at Air Force Base Fairford in the United Kingdom and won first prize for the best performance, reports Jutarnji List on July 11, 2016.

The explanation for the award states that they have demonstrated a remarkable level of flying and acrobatic skills. They won the Sword of King Hussein, who was a long-time sponsor of the award. The organizers announced that the King Hussein Memorial Sword award was given for exceptionally precise and attractive program “with never previously seen manoeuvres carried out in very challenging weather conditions”.

This prestigious military air event each year bring together representatives of almost all the world’s leading air forces and hundreds of thousands of spectators. The flight and the exhibition part of the programme regularly includes an extremely large number of military aircraft.

For the Wings of Storm air acrobatic display team, this was their 43rd performance abroad at international air shows.
