Polling Update: Polls for Sixth, Eighth and Ninth Constituency Released

Another round of polling results announced by the media.

RTL and Jutarnji List continued with their poll of ten parliamentary constituencies. On Wednesday evening, they announced results of the poll for the sixth constituency, which covers south-eastern part of Zagreb, part of Zagreb County, and Sisak-Moslavina County.

At last year’s elections, SDP coalition won 35.4 percent of votes (6 seats), followed by HDZ coalition (32.9 percent; 5 seats), MOST (13.9 percent; 2 seats), Bandić Milan 365 Party (5.7 percent; 1 seat), and Živi Zid (4.4 percent; no seats).

According to the poll, 60 percent of voters in this constituency plan to vote on 11 September. Among those who will vote, SDP coalition leads with 34.2 percent of support, followed by HDZ (29.9 percent), MOST (6.3 percent), Bandić Milan 365 Party (5.9 percent), and Živi Zid (4.5 percent). As for seats in Parliament, SDP would win 7 seats, HDZ 5 seats, MOST 1 seat, and Bandić Milan 365 Party 1 seat.

Support for MOST in this constituency has fallen dramatically (by more than half), which caused MOST to lose a seat in Parliament, which was gained by SDP coalition. Živi Zid is close to the five percent electoral threshold and could win one seat.

After RTL polls conducted in seven of ten constituencies, HDZ has the same number of seats as in last Parliament, SDP coalition has four seats more and MOST has four seats less than after elections last year.

Croatian Radio Television (HRT) released polls for the eighth and ninth constituencies.

At last year’s elections in the eighth constituency, which covers Istria and Rijeka area, SDP-led Croatia Is Growing coalition won 37.7 percent of the vote, followed by Istrian regional party IDS (19.8 percent), the HDZ-led Patriotic Coalition (17.5 percent), MOST (10.5 percent), and Živi Zid (5.2 perent). As for parliamentary seats, SDP coalition won 7 seats, IDS 3 seats, HDZ coalition 3 seats, and MOST 1 seat.

According to the poll, SDP coalition leads with 32.0 percent, followed by IDS (14.8 percent), HDZ (9.6 percent), Živi Zid (6.4 percent), and MOST (4.7 percent). As far as seats are concerned, SDP coalition would win 7 seats, IDS 3 seats, HDZ 2 seats, Živi Zid 1 seat, and MOST possibly 1 seat (they could cross the electoral threshold due to a high number of still undecided voters).

At the last year’s election in the ninth constituency, which covers Lika region and northern Dalmatia, HDZ’s Patriotic Coalition won 49.5 percent of votes, followed by SDP’s Croatia Is Growing Coalition (26.0 percent), MOST (15.1 percent), and Živi Zid (3.1 percent). HDZ’s coalition won 8 seats in Parliament, SDP’s coalition 4 seats, and MOST 2 seats.

This year, HDZ leads with 41.0 percent, followed by SDP (19.4 percent), MOST (7.8 percent), and Živi Zid (4.3 percent). HDZ would win 9 seats, SDP 4 seats, and MOST 1 seat.

After HRT polls conducted in six of ten constituencies, SDP has four seats more than last year, Živi Zid has three seats more, HDZ has two seats less, MOST has three seats less, and Reformist Party/ Bandić Milan Party has two seats less.
