The drawing was held in Dubrovnik on Tuesday, placing defending champion Jug CO in group B with Italian Pro Recco, Spanish Barceloneta, Serbian Partizan and two to four winners in the third qualifying round
In group A are Greek Olympiacos, Hungarian Szolnoki, German Spandau 04 and French Nice as well as winners of qualification groups B and D, Jutarnji List published on August 30, 2016.
As the host of the final tournament if the Hungarian Szolnoki, from group A with the Hungarians the two next best teams will move forward. In Jug’s group B the best three clubs will advance.
The final list of teams will be known on November 9, when the rematches of the third qualification round are scheduled. The group phase of Champion’s League will last from November 30 to April 26, with the Final Six scheduled for May 25 to 27, 2017.
The drawing of the first qualification round was completed earlier, with 23 clubs divided into four tournaments to be held from September 30 to October 2. Croatian representative Mornar from Split will play in group A. The host of the tournament is Romanian Oradea, while other clubs in the group are Turkish Galatasaray and Dutch Utrecht.
Qualification group B will be held in Budapest, with the home team OSC Budapest joined by German Hannover 1898 and Dutch Barendrecht. Host town of group C is La Valleta, while the local team witht he same name will be joined by Jadran from Herceg Novi, Steaua from Bucharest and Arkonia from Szczecin.
Porto is the home town of group D, with the Portuguese champion Clube Fluvial Portuense, Italian BPM Sport Management, Turkish ENKA Sport Club and Russian Sintez.
