Sandra won all seven Diamond League events and confirmed her dominance in female discus throwing
Sandra Perković secured the Diamond League win in her fifth appearance in London months ago, and on September 1. 2016, in Zurich she won once again. Her discus landed at 68,44 meters mark, and she was ready to be presented with the wealthy award.
She talked about her season performance after the win: “This was the dream season for me, I won at the Olympics and remained unbeaten in Diamond League. I reached all my goals, and I am happy to finish my season in Zagreb, and if I would to improve my record, it would be a perfect ending to the perfect season.”
She added her opinion about the dominance she showed throughout the season: “My comfortable wins after the Olympics show the difference; while all my rivals took somewhat of a vacation, I stayed focused and had been throwing the same distances. And now, they will rest, and I will try to do my best in Zagreb.”
IAAF World Challenge Zagreb Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 6th, and it will be a nice opportunity for Croatian fans to greet Sandra and congratulate her for this year’s success. Also, as Sandra sets her mind on something, it usually happens, so it is an opportunity to cheer her to the new record throw.
