For the final month of this year, renown collectionist and gallery owner from Palmižana Dagmar Meneghello is preparing a large exhibition of modern fine art in the “Rajko Mamuzić” gallery in Novi Sad, Večernji List reported. This event is partly made possible by Vojvodina artist Živko Grozdanić Gera who recently exhibited in Palmižana.

“The exchange of modern fine arts artwork between Croatia and Serbia is key to cooperation, it’s the DNA of joint projects, understanding similarities, difference, solutions... The key to deconstructing a model of closed doors that burdens our histories and the set up of a new cultural model that values modern society as values of the European Union, values in differences. In the rich history of both cultures there are countless connections, from those in early modernism through cooperation of Croatian and Serbian avant-gardes in the beginning of the 20th century, all the way to joint projects of artists from the period of neo avant-garde,” said Živko Grozdanić Gera.

Dagmar Meneghello will exhibit in Novi Sad works by artists she closely worked with for the last half a century, and they are, among others, Boris Bućan, Đuro Seder, Nives Kavurić Kurtović, Ivan Lesjak, Ivo Đebalj, Ferdinand Kulmer, Željko Hegedušić, Miroslav Šutej, Boris Demur, Nada Falout, Vjenceslav Richter, Vatroslav Kuliš, Toni Franović, Paulina Jazvić, Lidija Patafta, Stefan Lupino, Zlatan Vrkljan, Nikola Reiser, Ivica Malčić, Darko Bavoljak, Ivo Pervan, Tisja Kljaković... Exhibition curators are Danijela Halda and Živko Grozdanić.

The exhibition will showcase two hundred rare works and stay open until February 2017. The exhibition is also supported by the Croatian Civil Alliance whose President Tomislav Stantić points out that the goal of the exhibition is to do away with skepticism still present between two cultures and two nations. The exhibition will also be aided by the Geramuseum gallery form Vršac and Art Kult from Novi Sad.
