Built in 1948 as the first post-war hotel in former Yugoslavia, what once was the "Jadran" hotel in Tučepi is undergoing a 12 million euro reconstruction, transforming the hotel with a 5-star facade and completely new facilities and services.
Jako Andabak, majority owner of Bluesun Hotels, has announced that construction on the new "Jadran" hotel will begin in late September, with a slated completion in May 2017. The hotel will have 5 stars after the renovation, and will operate as part of the "TUI Blue” hotel brand.
The hotel will have a total of 161 rooms, with 11 exclusive apartments. The grounds itself will be the first ever TUI Blue five-star hotel, boasting 4 bars, 3 restaurants, 3 swimming pools, a fitness center, indoor and outdoor spas, and of course, a stunning beachfront.
The "Jadran" hotel will be the first TUI Blue hotel in Croatia, with TUI Blue hotels in only six other locations across Italy, Germany, on Tenerife and Turkey. Andabak states that this investment of 12 million euros is great because it puts in around 70,000 euros per hotel room, making the investment easily repaid over a 10 year period.
In addition to this investment, Andabak mentions a major reconstruction of the hotel "Berulia" in Brela (another hotel under Bluesun Hotels), which will have four stars and 45 new rooms.
Last but not least, we hear the new “Jadran” is also fully sold out for the 2017 season - let's hope the construction is complete before the first guests arrive!
