European champion and forward for Real Madrid, Gareth Bale has said that his teammate at Real Madrid and captain of the Croatian National Team, Luka Modrić, is one of the most consistent players that he has played with.
Gareth Bale, during an interview with talkSPORT, was asked questions about the teammates he’s had throughout his career. When asked who is the best player on Real Madrid in training, Bale answered just right.
“For me, Luka Modrić is the best at training. He just seems to always be consistent and sees passes that no-one else sees. Obviously being with Luka Modrić at Tottenham and Real Madrid, I’ve been able to witness it many times.”
Bale also said the Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo and French defender Raphael Varane are Real Madrid's fastest footballers that he has played with, and that Brazilian Marcelo is funniest player on the Madrid squad (who is also in charge of the locker room music).
Modrić is currently recovering from a left knee injury and could return to the field on the eve of the big Madrid derby against Atletico, which is scheduled for November 19. Modrić should also get a new contract until 2019 or 2020, while his current contract expires in the summer of 2018.
